TriNewaShield Intermediate (Epoxy)

A two-pack polyamide-cured high-solid epoxy coating designed for application on structural steel as an intermediate or finish coat in aggressive coastal and industrial environments. It forms a tough, abrasion-resistant barrier with excellent resistance to moisture and corrosion. Also suitable as a maintenance primer for decks, topsides, and ballast tanks.

Surface Preparation:

  • Degrease and blast clean steel to Sa 2½.
  • Use mechanical tools if blasting isn’t feasible.
  • Wire brushing accepted to St2 or St3 level.
  • Ensure all surfaces are clean and dry.
  • Preparation complies with ISO 8504:2000 standards.

  • Application Methods: Airless spray, conventional spray; brush/roller for touch-ups
  • Tip Size: Manual: 15–21 thou | Automatic: 21–26 thou
  • Pot life: 2–4 hours
  • Fluid Pressure: 1500–2500 psi
  • Mixing Ratio : 4 parts base : 1 part accelerator
  • Recommended DFT: 75–125 microns
  • Wet Film Thickness: 121–201 microns
  • Thinner: Use approved thinner (e.g., Thinner 6756)
  • Dry Heat Resistance: Up to 150°C (intermittent)
